The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) recently announced the appointment of Quanita Pokolo-Hassell, MBA, PHR, as its new vice president of human resources, effective Nov. 3, 2025.
In this leadership role, Pokolo-Hassell will oversee ASAE's full human resources portfolio, including talent acquisition and retention, onboarding, learning and development, performance management, employee relations, HR operations and systems and workplace culture and engagement. She will report directly to ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE.
"Quanita brings exceptional experience and a people-centered approach to leadership that will help ASAE continue to strengthen its culture and advance our mission," Mason said. "Her vision for empowering teams and creating inclusive, high-performing workplaces will be instrumental as we continue to grow and serve our community."
Pokolo-Hassell joins ASAE from ACDI/VOCA, an international economic development organization where she most recently served as executive vice president of human resources. In that role, she led an award-winning HR team, guided her previous organization to a Top Workplace award and earned recognition for operational excellence among her peers in the international HR community. She previously held HR leadership positions with the International Center for Research on Women and the National Institutes of Health Federal Credit Union.
Pokolo-Hassell holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Professional Human Resources (PHR) Certification and is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
