ASSOCIATION CONNECTS PHYSICAL THERAPISTS WITH FACILITIES THAT NEED THEM
Doctors, nurses and other first responders are on the front lines of the medical response to the coronavirus pandemic, and physical therapists can play a key role on the healthcare team, according to the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). To facilitate that teamwork, APTA launched an online service to connect members of the physical therapy profession with facilities looking for volunteers.
The service offers two points of entry: one for facilities in need of physical therapists (PTs), physical therapist assistants (PTAs), or student volunteers; and another for PTs, PTAs and students willing to offer their services by way of the APTA Engage volunteer portal.
