Why OSAP Hopes to See You in Toledo
A note from Jarrod Clabaugh, CAE, OSAP's president & CEO
Hello, my friend.
As the hours dwindle between now and the kick-off of the OSAP 2025 annual conference, I have been reflecting on why attending and engaging at each year’s annual has meant so much to me since I joined Ohio’s nonprofit landscape in 2010. While I have professionally benefited from attending all the organization’s events since I joined 15 years ago, it is the annual meeting memories, conversations and connections that stand out most to me.
It's the conversations over the Thursday lunches and in the hallways shuffling from general sessions to breakout presentations that have enriched the work I do every day helping me overcome something that was "keeping me up at night.” It’s the bonding that occurs with people who get what “no budget” really is or how donning another “hat” isn’t possible when the ones already teetering on your head are about to topple. It’s the laughter and connection built around a firepit or on a shuttle to another off-site excursion that have brought me the strongest professional relationships that often have morphed into personal ones.
Yes, I work for OSAP and am its longest serving chief staff officer in more than 15 years, but these are not the reasons why I look forward to the conference every year. It’s because of people like you – people who have helped make me better along the way – that I enjoy the conference so much.
If you remain on the fence about coming, I would encourage you to take the leap. Look back on your engagement with OSAP and the many peers you have in this field and examine what it has meant to you and your development as an industry leader.
Registration will close late tomorrow (July 15). Before it does, I hope you will consider joining us. Please select this link to register. If you still want to save on your hotel stay, we can also help you with that. Let Monica know if you need any help with this. She is a powerful addition to our team, and she wants you to grow from this experience as much as I do.
Thank you for your continued commitment to Ohio's nonprofit community and to OSAP - your association. We're better because of you, and I hope to see you soon in the Glass City!
Warmest regards,
Jarrod A. Clabaugh, CAE
