Ohio Legislature Implements Steep Cuts to the H2Ohio Water Quality Program

Governor DeWine started the H20hio program in 2019

The Ohio General Assembly's final budget, which was approved Wednesday, includes steep cuts to the state's H2Ohio program, which is designed to address water quality concerns in the state.

Instead of the $270 million that Governor Mike DeWine was seeking, the legislature agreed to appropriate just shy of $165 million.

Earlier in the budget process, the House of Representatives was proposing $150 million for the fund and the Senate was offering $170 million.
