Look for These Five Traits to Find Your High-potential Employees
These improv comedy lessons can help you unleash untapped strengths
Who are your high-potential employees? Companies want to train and develop people they think will be successful. Often, you see things such as rotational programs or special coaching for groups of people whom management identifies as having “high potential.”
What is high potential, and how do you spot it? Is it in people with degrees from top-tier schools? Or people who have risen rapidly in their previous jobs? What if you’re favoring people in the wrong group?
I’ve learned a lot about potential in my side gig as an improv comedian and instructor. Additionally, I discussed this situation with my improv mentor, Jennifer Cain Birkmose,whose day job is co-founder of VivaValet, a tech company focused on elder care, and Boutique Theatre Basel founder Susan Brownfield.
