FBI Says Explosion at Palm Springs Fertility Clinic was "Act of Terrorism"

The blast killed one and damaged buildings for blocks

A large explosion that collapsed a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California, on Saturday killed at least one person and injured four in what the FBI is calling an intentional act of terrorism.

The blast occurred near the address for American Reproductive Centers. The attack appeared to target the facility, Akil Davis, assistant director of the FBI's Los Angeles field office, said at a news conference Saturday. He added that investigators have a "person of interest" in the attack and are not "actively out searching for a suspect."

"Make no mistake. This is an intentional act of terrorism," he said. "This is probably one of the largest bombing investigations we've had in Southern California."
