Trump Administration Updates Rules for White House Tours

Those wishing to visit the government facility must now have REAL IDs

On May 7, 2025, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued new security protocols for White House tours. All participants aged 18 and older will now be required to present a REAL ID or a valid passport.

Tour participants under the age of 18 will not be required to present an ID or passport. The White House has announced that individuals who do not present a REAL ID or passport on the day of their scheduled tour will be denied entry.

This update was provided to OSAP by Sen. Jon Husted's office. His office can also help interested parties schedule their tours for their trips to Washington, D.C.
