To make your meetings better right now, avoid these seven fatal errors

Many years ago, I wrote a book on business meetings. Back in those ancient times, it was widely recognized that most meetings were really bad. As I said in the book, there are too many meetings; they take too much time; they're often inefficient and unproductive; there's a lack of preparation -- the list goes on and on.

In fact, when I wrote the book, the research showed that 47 percent of meeting time was wasted.

Well, it appears it's getting worse when it comes to meetings. According to a survey of senior managers, 71 percent said that meetings are unproductive and inefficient. That's not just bad, that's worse.
