Severe Storms Leave at Least Three Dead and Destroy Buildings in Ohio and Indiana

There were also reports of strong tornadoes

Strong storms that likely included tornadoes swept through Ohio and Indiana Thursday evening, leaving at least three people dead, destroying parts of some towns, knocking out power for thousands and prompting search and rescue efforts in at least one city, officials said, as the storm threat moves Friday to the Southeast.

"I can best describe it as a bomb going off... unbelievable damage," Sheriff Randall Dodds of Logan County, Ohio, told CNN Friday morning.

A suspected tornado that hit Logan County killed three people, Dodds said.
