ODD Provides Eight Ohio Companies with International Business Opportunities

These export programs help Ohio companies enter new export markets

The Arab Health Exhibition and Conference took place in Dubai from Jan. 29 – Feb. 1, 2024; for the third year, the Ohio Department of Development (ODD) hosted eight innovative Ohio companies at the largest healthcare event in the Middle East. The conference offered an inside look at the future of healthcare with a focus on collective effort, patient-centered care and technology.

The eight Ohio companies showcased in the award-winning booth were:

  1. ACE Medical Company–Cincinnati, Ohio
  2. Bay Corporation–Westlake, Ohio
  3. Bertec–Columbus, Ohio
  4. General Sleep–Cleveland, Ohio
  5. Synapse Biomedical (SBI)–Oberlin, Ohio
  6. RE Cooling Tech (dba Three Firefighters LLC)– Lewis Center, Ohio
  7. Vesco–Columbus, Ohio, and
  8. WillowWood–Mt. Sterling, Ohio

Development provided international support to the businesses by preparing them for the potential for business-to-business meetings with decision-makers at Arab Health through their International Market Support Program. Funds from the Small Business Administration State Trade Expansion program were used to expand and enhance the companies’ presence at the show.

Development’s export programs assist Ohio companies with entering new export markets and increasing their exports. They also help businesses pay the wages of export-trained interns, reimburse companies for costs associated with exporting, provide in-market support for businesses, and maintain a network of export-focused advisors across the state.
