ASAE to Launch Association Governance Institute

The organization says it will be a "comprehensive resource on governance"

This summer, the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) plans to launch the Association Governance Institute (AGI), a new initiative dedicated to promoting excellence in governance practices for associations.

Through education, research and collaboration, AGI is designed to empower board members, CEOs and their staff to navigate the complexities of governance effectively. ASAE is launching AGI with the assistance of Paul Pomerantz, FACHE, FASAE, who recently retired as chief executive officer of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA). Pomerantz will serve as AGI's managing director.

"Good governance is critical to ensuring associations achieve their mission-related goals and maintain transparency and trust with their stakeholders," said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. "AGI is designed to help associations apply best practices and modern approaches to governance to underpin their success. AGI has a skilled and experienced managing director in Paul Pomerantz who is well versed on what it takes to establish effective governance in the association space."
