Otter Launches AI Product to Take the Time-suck Out of Meetings

Meeting GenAI tool an AI-powered twist on Slack chats

It's no longer news that AI is here and, in a revolutionary way, it's shaping the future. Generative AI tech can render imaginative new art, add voices to video games or produce crazy videos that will soon end up in ads. And a slew of new AI chatbot systems can speed up and smooth out all sorts of business processes, from writing code to predicting your company's future.

But the actual business of business still involves a lot of facetime, slog and paperwork, some of which is unnecessary-he "that meeting should have been an email" meme still rings true for good reason. Enter Otter, an AI company with a new tool that can look at your previous meetings and neatly answer questions like, "what was our big decision yesterday?"

Otter already has an established AI business, thanks to its audio transcription AI assistant. That's a boon for anyone saddled with writing up the minutes of the company meeting, or, say, for journalists reviewing exactly what was said in an interview. Otter's new offering goes a whole extra mile. Its Meeting GenAI includes a chatbot that can crunch through the texts of previous meetings and answer queries about what it finds there.
