Join Your Colleagues at ASAE’s 2024 Congressional Fly-in

The registration deadline is Feb. 26

Twenty-four spots are left to register for ASAE’s 2024 Legislative Fly-in and to advocate for our workforce alongside fellow community leaders. The deadline for ASAE members to register is Monday, Feb. 26.

The program includes several Congressional speakers:

• Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01), who leads ASAE’s priority legislation, the Freedom to Invest in Tomorrow’s Workforce Act(H.R. 1477).
• Victoria Honard, legislative director, office of Rep. Suzan DelBene (WA-01). DelBene serves in Democratic leadership and on the House Committee on Ways & Means, which holds jurisdiction over H.R. 1477, and 
• Kyle Perel, tax legislative assistant, House Committee on Ways & Means majority.

Congressman Mike Kelly (PA-16), who chairs the Tax Policy Subcommittee within the House Committee on Ways & Means, will also join the evening reception* on March 5. ASAE is honored to recognize Chairman Kelly with its annual Sentinel Award for his steadfast support of associations and the economy.

Association leaders from across the U.S. attend ASAE’s Legislative Fly-In to help enhance their skills advocating in Congress, help build support for policies that strengthen the workforce and to network and build connections amid a unique setting of decisionmakers. The education program provides 4.57 CAE credit hours, with an additional credit hour offered for attending the optional “First Timers” session at 11:00 a.m. ET on March 5. All attendees are welcome to this pre-event session.

ASAE public policy staff will host a training webinar on Wednesday, February 14, at 1:00 p.m. ET that will cover policy priorities and Congressional meeting process for the event. Viewership is required to earn all available CAE credit hours.

The bipartisan, bicameral Freedom to Invest in Tomorrow’s Workforce Actwould expand qualified expenses under 529 savings plans to include postsecondary training and credentialing, such as occupational licenses and professional certifications. The bill would provide valuable tax-advantaged resources for families, students and workers—with or without a college degree—who pursue career growth, mid-career changes or career pathways that diverge from a typical academic route.
