Harvard Law to Offer Low-income Scholarships

Yale and Stanford already provide them

Harvard Law School will this fall begin offering full-tuition scholarships to some lower-income students, following similar moves at Yale and Stanford.

Eligibility for Harvard Law's Opportunity Fund will be based on a comprehensive review of factors including the income and assets of students and their families, the school said. However, it has not released a full list of criteria for the scholarship.

The school said "many" qualifying students will have an income of 200 percent or less of the federal poverty line. That means a student with an individual income of $30,120 or below would likely qualify, as would a student from a family of four earning $62,000 or less.
