Massive Winter Storms Sweeps the U.S.

It brought flooding, tornadoes and power outages

The massive storm that swept across the central and eastern United States on Monday and Tuesday left few places untouched, unleashing widespread strong winds, heavy snow and blizzard conditions, flooding rains and tornadoes.

At least four deaths have been confirmed as a result of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, and several more reports of deaths are expected. At its peak, the storm cut power to more than 1 million customers and over half a million were still in the dark Wednesday morning.

In some winters, this historically intense storm would be the one and only. But another one is forecast to come right on its heel amid an extremely active weather pattern.
