ASAE is Investing in ‘Power of Associations’ Economic Research

Associations need hard data to reflect the valuable role they play

The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) board of directors recently approved a strategic investment in research to quantify the "Power of Associations" and provide ASAE and the broader association community with compelling data to support the economic impact of associations.

The "Power of Associations" research will include national, state and congressional district-specific data on the impact of associations as employers and as economic drivers through meetings and events. ASAE will have high-level findings to share during the ASAE Congressional Fly-in on March 5-6, 2024. Additional findings will be released during the 2024 ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition, taking place in Cleveland August 10-13, 2024.

"Elevating associations through advocacy and our Power of Associations messaging is a strategic priority for ASAE," said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. "In order to effectively represent our community on Capitol Hill and in state houses across the country, we need hard data that supports our industry's vital role in driving the economy, creating jobs and training the workforce. ASAE looks forward to sharing the results of this important research initiative with the broader community so that we can better tell the story of our sector to policymakers, the media and other key audiences."

ASAE selected Tourism Economics, an Oxford Economics company, to be ASAE's partner in this important research initiative. Following the completion of this research initiative, ASAE plans to provide yearly updates so the data shared with Capitol Hill and other audiences remains current.
