ODC Announces Name of its First Division of Cannabis Control Superintendent
James Canepa’s appointment was announced Thursday
The state has chosen the first superintendent to lead the new Division of Cannabis Control, a department made following the legalization of marijuana in Ohio.
James Canepa's appointment was announced Thursday by Sherry Mayfield, the director of the Ohio Department of Commerce (ODC). According to a release from the agency, the division will ensure the safety and regulation of both medical and non-medical cannabis.
Canepa will begin his new role on Jan. 1, 2024.
