It’s ‘Manufacturing Day’

And, yes, Ohio is still a big player

Like many manufacturing states in the United States, Ohio has seen a downturn in available manufacturing jobs over the last couple of decades, met with a sharp decline during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, manufacturing is still one of the top industries in the state.

According to the Ohio Manufacturers' Association (OMA), the manufacturing industry is responsible for 17.9 percent of Ohio's private industries' gross domestic product (GDP), with an annual payroll of $44 billion and $51 billion in exported products to 211 countries and territories.

For Manufacturing Day 2023, which is Friday as declared by theManufacturing Institute, cleveland.com is looking at trends in manufacturing jobs over the last decade.
