Tropical Birds in Ohio

Unique weather events may be impacting migratory patterns

If you have ever wanted to see a pink flamingo up close without traveling hundreds of miles, you might be in luck.

On Friday, flamingos were present at Caesar Creek Lake inside of Caesar Creek State Park in Waynesville. which is approximately 40 miles from Cincinnati. It is extremely rare to see a flamingo in Ohio. According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the flamingo is not listed as an Ohio waterbird.

The San Diego Zoo says flamingos are not commonly found in the U.S.
