Testing for Farm Workers
With farm workers doing some of the most essential work out there , a California-based industry group is working to keep those workers safe.

The Grower-Shipper Association of Central California (GSA) is collaborating with Clinica de Salud del Valle de Salinas (CSVS), a local clinic in the Salinas, California, area, to offer timely COVID-19 testing for agricultural workers, so that they can get tested and learn their results quickly.

“We worked to create an option that prioritizes testing for agricultural employees, whether they have symptoms of COVID-19 or not, with shorter turnaround times,” GSA President Chris Valadez said in a post on GSA’s blog. “After hearing that test results could take up to six days, for the benefit of farm workers and farm employers, we joined with CSVS to expedite results. This new program provides results within 48 hours.”
