What In-person Conferences Will Look Like Post-COVID

More than forty percent don't expect in-person events until January 2021

Even though cities and states are in different phases of reopening, it will likely be months before large conferences and trade shows can resume. According to the ASAE Research Foundation’s latest Association Impact Snapshot survey, almost 44 percent of association execs who responded said the earliest date they expect their organization to resume in-person events is January 2021 or later.

Even though groups may not be welcoming onsite attendees soon, that doesn’t mean they’re not already thinking about processes and protocols they’ll have to implement to maintain high health and safety standards.

To help organizers with that planning, last week the International Association of Exhibitions and Events released a white paper, “Essential Considerations for Safely Reopening Exhibitions and Events, Version One.”
