COVID-19: Now is the Time to Address Organizational Crisis Management Standards

Consider this recommendation in your planning

Does your organization have documentation in place to address regional, national or even organizational crisis management?

The following recommendation may be helpful for member associations:

Now is a good time to review organizational bylaws and/or procedural documentation to insure these crucial documents are up-to-date and contain emergent contingency plans.

Whether it is for COVID-19, the sudden loss of board members or staff, a weather-related crisis or some other unforeseen circumstance, how the organization handles such circumstances should be documented and reviewed on an annual basis by staff and the organization's board of directors, as well as legal counsel.
