OSAE Member Tim Schaffer Set to Return to Senate, Replace Brian Hill
He could return as early as next week
It appears Ohio Rep. Tim Schaffer, R-Lancaster, will return to the Ohio Senate, probably as soon as next week.
The Senate screening committee charged with replacing former Ohio 20th District Sen. Brian Hill, R-Zanesville, has recommended him to fill the position. Senate majority spokesman John Fortney said the Senate is expected to confirm and swear Schaffer in on Wednesday to fill Hill's unexpired term that runs until Dec. 31, 2020.
"I am honored to be asked to serve the people of the 20th Ohio Senate District and its seven counties," Schaffer said. "I've enjoyed meeting numerous citizens across the district and am eager to roll my sleeves up and get to work."
