Marketing and Member Services Manager

We are currently seeking a Marketing Member Services Manager to be the driver of our creative content through all channels, and to lead our membership development efforts through imaginative campaigns and outreach. The Organization: Founded in 1951, the Ohio Physical Therapy Association (OPTA) is non-profit professional organization representing licensed physical therapists, licensed physical therapist assistants and students enrolled in physical therapy and physical therapist assistant programs in Ohio. OPTA represents more than 3,800 therapists and therapy students in Ohio. This organization is a chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association, a national professional organization representing 100,000 members.

POSITION:

Our Marketing Member Services Manager is responsible for assisting in the execution of internal and external projects related to communications/social media, consumer education, public relations, and membership services. This individual shall manage multiple projects while working with minimal supervision in a deadline-driven and customer-service oriented environment. Attention to detail and proven project management skills are essential for success in this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing | Communications | Social Media

  • You will manage the association’s social media accounts, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram through comprehensive editorial calendar and post messages relevant to the membership and consumers.
  • You will develop creative and timely engagement initiatives that elevate the organization and the profession.
  • You will evaluate social media metrics to further enhance audience engagement and brand identity.
  • You will oversee all content management of OPTA website, including member database. 
  • You will compose simple to complex communication documents including eblasts, press releases, website information, reports and presentation materials while maintaining OPTA brand integrity.
  • You will work with OPTA Director of Professional Development on all direct member communications/promotions for Annual Spring Conference, Fall Conference, Leadership Development Conference and Advocacy Day, including calls for abstracts and calls for presentations.
  • You will initiate, create and develop branded marketing campaigns for OPTA programs and projects. 

ACCESS Magazine

  • You will serve as the key contact, editor and coordinator for ACCESS magazine, contribute articles and updates and accurately edit copy of all promotional material. 
  • You will manage advertising for social media platforms, newsletter and new identified channels to enhance non-dues revenue.
  • You will create and develop podcasts and videos to support OPTA initiatives.
  • You will manage and promote OPTA webinars, Outside the Boundaries and The Many Faces of OPTA video series. Consumer Relations Education
  • You will create educational and advocacy tools to raise awareness of key issues and advance OPTA priorities.
  • You will identify key organizational and community contacts to develop and promote consumer relations concepts on public site ChoosePT.com.
  • You will work with outside agencies when necessary to manage external projects, including branded video production and dissemination to various targets.

Membership Services

  • You will cultivate a network of potential members, academic institutions and vendors to promote organizational membership and involvement.
  • You will provide project management support to assigned OPTA committees, including meeting/event preparation and activities.
  • You will work with the Membership Committee in the development and implementation of membership recruitment and retention strategies.
  • You will serve as staff liaison to assigned OPTA special interest groups.
  • You will prepare and coordinate monthly member mailings/outreach, and regularly disseminate membership lists and data/analysis to district leaders.
  • You will oversee coordination of Annual Membership Meeting script and audio/visual production with the Executive Director.
  • You will manage the OPTA Membership Awards Program in conjunction with the Awards Chair.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Creative content development experience utilizing design and creative impression video software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with concentration in social media and public relations strategy development. Exceptional grammar skills are required.
  • Website database and content management expertise, or willingness to learn and master.
  • Competency in recording, managing and promoting podcasts, including fundamental software, or willingness to learn and master.
  • Experience in communication and membership development, preferably in a non-profit association setting.
  • Ability to multitask work effectively independently and as a member of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent, articulate, personable and diplomatic customer service skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of membership database programs a plus.
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving and lifting of files and/or boxes up to 30 pounds.
