American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists

The Position: The American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH), a highly respected non-profit, seeks a new Executive Director. This role provides strong, innovative and goal focused leadership to this member focused organization that advances workplace occupational safety and environmental health. The position is responsible for the overall operations of ACGIH in order to meet organizational objectives for services and deliverables while maintaining its fiscal vitality. The Executive Director serves as the Chief Staff Officer and Secretary of ACGIH, and an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors. This position reports to the ACGIH Board of Directors.

The Opportunity: ACGIH is a scientific organization with more than 2,300 members working to provide a safe and healthy workplace for employees in a wide variety of settings. To achieve this, ACGIH provides technical and scientific publications, continuing education courses, professional development programs, symposia, webinars and conferences. The Executive Director, along with a tenured staff, talented volunteer committees, and dedicated scientists, has a tremendous opportunity at a time of positive transformation and growth. As the organization and profession it serves continue to evolve, s/he can be an invaluable agent of change to protect and save even more lives.

The Executive Director drives the organization though effective management and leadership, as well as finance, governance, communication and IT oversight; all in an effort to serve the members with valuable services.
