Storytelling: Creating a Compelling Tale For Those You Serve
The Ohio Union
You are delivering the state of the industry address at your annual meeting. You notice that most of the audience seems disengaged and have reverted to the conference prayer (heads bowed looking at their smartphone). Why? The human brain does not pay attention to boring things like lots of monotonous facts and figures. The human brain does turn its attention to emotional, compelling stories that bring facts and figures to life.
Come and learn actionable tips and techniques on crafting a compelling tale for those you serve from speaker Peter Margaritis. No matter your industry, you’ll find this information compelling and applicable.
For Peter Margaritis, accounting was never the career he envisioned for himself at 17 – standup comedy was going to be his ticket. However, based on his father’s advise – “Don’t be a funny guy, Pete. Be a CPA, you’ll never be hungry.” – and a knack for numbers, Peter earned his Master’s in Accountancy and then his CPA license. He worked in key positions in several large organizations, and did very well. But accounting really wasn’t his passion. He was, in fact, The Accidental Accountant.
Margaritis shows how the tools used in improv – like listening, flexibility and trust – can change how a team interacts with each other and their clients. Bottom line, he can help you learn new methods to improve communication and build stronger relationships with your clients, customers, stakeholders and associates.
