OSAE Aspiring Leaders Institute Re-Named

Honoring Shane Yates, CAE, CMP

The OSAE Board of Directors voted unanimously at its meeting on Friday, Mar. 11, 2016 to rename the Aspiring Leaders Institute to the Shane Yates Aspiring Leaders Institute (SYALI). The inaugural program has accepted 17 participants from associations around Ohio. The first of six sessions will be held Mar. 21, 2016, and SYALI participants will be recognized at the OSAE Fourth Quarter Meeting.

“The Aspiring Leaders Institute is something about which Shane was extremely passionate,” said Holly Dorr, OSAE President and Deputy Executive Director, Ohio Chapter, American College of Emergency Physicians. “By renaming it in his honor, we not only pay tribute to him, but we ensure that future association leaders will learn of his commitment to the industry and his passion for education and growth.”

The Shane Yates Aspiring Leaders Institute is the organization’s new cohort-based leadership development program designed to develop essential skills, to strengthen and build the professional careers and to encourage the involvement of entry-and mid-level association executives while strengthening community within OSAE.
