No. 1: Nurture a team of motivated people

The best motivation comes from within. You can use all the inducements that you like externally but it pales into insignificance when you compare the performance of a person who is motivated from within.

The point is to nurture a team of motivated people and create an enabling environment conducive to high performance, leaders often need to delve deeper into human needs and behavior.

Most organizations rely on a mix of financial and non-financial rewards to motivate employees. However, this alone is not enough. Would financial rewards be enough to keep you motivated if your manager or leader shouts at you on in public and this happens quite frequently?
