AICPA Suggests Changes to Form 990

The majority of the recommendations are technical in nature

This week, in a letter to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) suggested more than 30 changes to the IRS Form 990 return that most tax-exempt organizations file.

The majority of the recommendations are technical in nature, though AICPA ranked more than half of them as “high” in both importance and urgency. Please select this link to read AICPA’s suggested changes to both the Form 990 and its instructions.
