Hikers: State Has New Online Resource For Trails

New service encourages tourism along Ohio's park trails

Ohioans looking to enjoy the outdoors now have a new resource when they’re searching for events taking place along the state’s trails.

On Thursday, Sen. Steve Wilson, R-Maineville, along with Ohio Department of Natural Resources Director Jim Zehringer, announced an online portal that collects and consolidates important trail data, including an interactive trail map and a listing of events happening across the state.

“Whether you are planning a thru-hike of Buckeye Trail or simply looking for a nice place to enjoy an afternoon walk or bike-ride, this new resource provides a wealth of valuable information,” Wilson said in a statement. “I appreciate the partnership with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and their willingness to enhance our efforts to positively impact trail development in our state.”
