ASAE Announces Sentinel Awards

The awards will be presented during American Associations Day in March

The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) will present Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) and Rep. Scott Taylor (R-VA) with a 2018 Sentinel Award during American Associations Day March 21 in Washington, D.C.

ASAE will also present Wendy Kavanagh, CAE, president of the Georgia Society of Association Executives (GSAE), with ASAE’s Association Political Leadership Award, for her stalwart support of ASAE’s advocacy agenda and for sharing The Power of A message with elected officials in Georgia and around the country.

Throughout her career, Dingell has shown strong support for associations in Michigan and nationwide. Before being elected to Congress, Dingell worked for the General Motors Corporation where she was president of the GM Foundation and a senior public affairs executive.

ASAE is recognizing Rep. Taylor for his work opposing anti-LGBTQ legislation in the Virginia House of Delegates and in Congress. Before joining Congress, Taylor was a Navy SEAL during the Iraq war.

The awards will be presented at the American Associations Day/ASAE Board reception March 21 at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill. American Associations Day is ASAE’s yearly legislative fly-in for association advocates to share the association community’s powerful story with congressional offices on Capitol Hill.
