Why Do So Many Veterinarians Attempt Suicide?

Animals in distress. Life-and-death decisions. Demanding pet owners. Veterinarians experience these and other difficult situations on a daily basis, and it is affecting their emotional and mental health.

Local advocates have taken notice and are implementing a number of initiatives focused on educating veterinarians about the risk of depression and the things they can do to maintain their well-being.

The Ohio Veterinary Medical Association focused on the importance of wellness at a recent conference.
