Ohio BWC Payroll True-up Deadline is August 15

The most efficient way to complete the form is online

The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) is once again reminding Ohio employers that the payroll true-up is due August 15, 2017.

Over the past two years, the BWC has transitioned to prospective billing. To complete the policy year, the BWC now requires employers to submit a payroll true-up report either online or by phone. The true-up period for private employers begins Jul. 1 with true-up reports due by Aug. 15.

Although reporting by phone is an option, the BWC strongly encourages the use of its online system, which will save employers time and money.  This report can be completed online or over the phone by calling (800) 644-6292.

This is not available to minimum premium payers. Don’t forget that completion of the payroll true-up report includes reporting payroll and making any additional premium payments online if you do owe premium.

If you have questions, you can always send an email to the BWC by selecting this link.

Don’t forget to complete your payroll true-up online by Aug. 15. There’s a lot riding on the deadline, including BWC program implications should you miss it. This is a critical deadline; the BWC has indicated that if a business does not complete the true-up in a timely manner, they may not be eligible for current, and future alternative rating and premium discount programs.
