Your OSAE Board is Working For You

Happy February and welcome to early spring! While the weather in Ohio may be unusual, the dedication of your OSAE Board is something you can always count on.

On Feb. 17, your 2017 Board spent several hours on OSAE matters (thank you Ernie Boyd and the Ohio Pharmacists Association for providing our beautiful meeting space) with two goals: building relationships and building your association! 

We opened with each Board member describing their entry into association management or sales/support for associations. Every single story is unique, and I’m willing to bet each one of you has a special story to share! Why don’t you ask the person next to you at the March 10 Quarterly Meeting & Luncheon about their start in our industry?

We reviewed the Board’s role and responsibilities to you – our members. We studied the results of our DiSC personality profiles so that we can better relate to one another, in addition to our colleagues, coworkers, family and friends. The bottom line on this – we promise to treat one another with respect and civility. We have dialogues rather than debates, and this moves OSAE in a positive direction.

We shared lunch and caught up on our “electronics.” We were very aware of the need to set these aside during our conversations and then so happy to catch up!

The afternoon saw us break into small groups and converse about the needs, wants, desires for OSAE in 2017 and beyond. Wow! The lists are long and comprehensive! Are you surprised that when the small groups reconvened, there were common themes? We will be sharing many of the ideas brought forth by the small groups with you in the coming weeks. In fact, we were so excited by the conversations that we are going to dedicate a portion of our future Board meetings to expanding on the ideas brought up during the retreat. Keep a look-out for new and exciting opportunities!

We know you have many demands on your time and want to assure you that we want to be an active and forward-looking Board. We are open to dialogue and new ideas. We want to be working for YOU – our friends and colleagues.
