OSAE Names New Executive Director

Jarrod Clabaugh Named to Lead Association

Jarrod Clabaugh

COLUMBUS, OHIO (MAY 13, 2016) -- The Ohio Society of Association Executives (OSAE) recently announced that Jarrod A. Clabaugh, chief communications officer of Clemons & Associates, Inc., an association management company headquartered in Baltimore, Md., was selected as the organization's newest executive director. Clabaugh, who had previously served on the organization's board of directors, is assuming the office following the unexpected death of Shane Yates, who had been the organization's executive director since 2012.

Prior to Clabaugh's role with Clemons & Associates, he had served as the director of communications for the Ohio Restaurant Association, based in Columbus, for nearly five years. The restaurant association serves as the leading voice for Ohio's foodservice industry, and Clabaugh served as the organization's spokesperson on leading issues and matters that impacted the cornerstone of most Ohio communities.

"With Jarrod's knowledge of the organization and his previous work as a communications director with an Ohio-based association, he is a natural fit for this role," said OSAE President Holly Dorr, MBA, CAE, Deputy Executive Director Ohio Chapter, American College of Emergency Physicians. "We are excited to move forward with our strategic initiatives and to apply his communication skills in a manner that furthers the organization's goals and mission."

In his position with the association management company, Clabaugh oversaw the communications and marketing strategies and social media channels for more than 10 independent organizations. As the Ohio Restaurant Association's director of communications, he was responsible for the association's digital and print publications as well as its social media footprint. Clabaugh also possesses experience in the for-profit sector, working for businesses in the real estate, automotive and health and pharmaceutical segments. In addition to being a graduate of Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, Clabaugh also possesses a Bachelor of Arts in French. He intends to pursue his CAE in his new role as OSAE's executive director.

"This is an amazing opportunity to lead a wonderful organization on a path that is already strong and to pay tribute to all the hard work of those who've preceded me," Clabaugh said. "OSAE's members, board and volunteer leadership reflect the true character of association professionalism and service, and I look forward to spearheading the initiatives that will continue to define OSAE as one of the nation's premier societies of association executives."
