Member Sales & Growth Specialist

The Ohio Restaurant Association (ORA) is recruiting for a full-time member sales & growth specialist to join our team, focusing on acquiring new restaurant and vendor members conducting business at nearly 22,000 locations throughout Ohio. This dynamic sales specialist will help represent the ORA to prospective members through various forms of outreach, showcasing our exclusive products, services and major events developed for professionals in a rapidly-evolving restaurant and foodservice industry.
Responsibilities will include:
• Respond to incoming calls and emails, follow-up with connections, new members and vendors via
phone, email and social media outreach
• Complete a weekly report that includes progress with assigned accounts, summary of attempts, and
completed connections and projects
• Step-in to fulfill any additional support to member sales team, as well as conduct administrative tasks
Details of the position:
• 37.5 hours per week (some flexibility)
• Salary compensation and full benefits package, including insurance, sick pay and vacation
• Work from ORA office (near Worthington, Ohio) and travel as necessary (up to 40 percent) work experience
Requirements:
• Proven performance record in sales and relationship-building, excellent communication and
interpersonal skills, both oral and written, persuasiveness, professional telephone etiquette, listening,
conflict resolution and customer relationship management success
Additional Requirements:
• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently and clearly in a professional manner
• Success with working autonomously, excellent time management, analytical and organizational skills,
and comfortable with multi-tasking
• Willingness to travel throughout Ohio (must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle with car insurance
for transportation)
• Proven experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook (experience with
databases and CRM software desired)
• Minimum of two years demonstrated outbound calling experience
• Preferred minimum of two years of consultative sales and/or customer service experience
• Association and non-profit experience is a plus
Education Requirements:
• Minimum of an associate's degree or college and workplace experience equivalent
• Hospitality and/or restaurant operations and Ohio workers compensation experience is a plus
