General Description

Heating, Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI), a Columbus, Ohio-based international trade association of nearly 1,000 businesses, seeks a Member Services Specialist to support efforts in growing member participation in HARDI programs and events, resolving inquiries from membership and providing administrative support. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide sales and customer support services for HARDI’s strategic pillars (Advocacy, Benchmarking, Education and Networking) and the many offerings that HARDI provides to its members
  • Work in a customer service and inside sales capacity by resolving member inquiries and connecting member needs with HARDI-provided solutions 
  • Proactively promote HARDI’s services and programs to members
  • Utilize and accurately update association database to provide support for various initiatives
  • Provide accurate support for various program enrollments, invoicing, follow-ups and reporting
  • Provide primary support in answering phones and general clerical support
  • Serve as an internal resource and troubleshooter in member services matters 
  • Serve as an ambassador of HARDI to our members, throughout the HVACR industry and the association community through positive interactions remotely and in-person
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 2 years of customer/member service or inside sales experience required, preferably in a membership or sales support setting. High School Diploma or GED and some college preferred
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency with MS Office products, experience with handling membership/ customer databases 
  • Proven organization and time management skills, ability to multitask, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially on the telephone
  • Self-starter with ability to work without close supervision
  • Must be able to lift, move and pack meeting supplies (up to 25 lbs.)
