OSAE Advocacy Effectiveness Town Hall

Is your government relations strategy on track?  Is your lobbying team credible and persuasive? Is your PAC prospering? Are your grassroots growing? If you need to get your programs in gear to meet your 2017 legislative goals, this is the perfect time to share ideas and re-calibrate for the remainder of 2017 by attending OSAE’s Advocacy Effectiveness Town Hall on March 23.

Do you want to attend a meeting of government relations professionals where you get to share ideas with your peers, rather than sitting through a lecture format?

Would you like to attend an event where in just a matter of hours you can leave with new techniques not to just think about, but implement in your government relations program?

How does a Town Hall work? Why should I attend?

Town halls are candid discussions of best practices where you set the agenda. Attendance is intentionally limited so that each participant can share their challenge and get on the spot peer feedback and solutions. The workshop will begin with Amy’s presentation: “From Mediocre to Magnificent: The Characteristics of Effective Association Executive Lobbyists.” See how you rate on the credibility and authenticity checklists, which are two vital elements of persuasion.

What topics will we discuss?

It’s up to you. Town hall participants set the agenda; however, previous Town Hall discussions have included the following topics:

  • Methods to combat issue fatigue
  • Trends in Lobby Day events and implementation tactics
  • Nuances to creating a create a PAC Champion / Ambassador program
  • Ways to keep volunteers engaged during the “off season”
  • Factors to consider when developing your government relations strategic plan
  • Creating a PAC contributor communications plan
  • How to properly use research to grow your PAC
  • Combating PAC cynicism, opposition and hostility
  • Innovative ways to recognize your top contributors
  • And many more

Previous  Town Hall participants said that they gained between seven and twenty-seven new ideas from the Town Halls----not a bad investment for a few hours. What have other attendees said about their Town Hall experience?

“This was my very first Town Hall experience and it was excellent! Very informative and lots of networking!”

“Such a useful discussion and productive format. There’s no better way to increase your knowledge base than by sharing best practices, hits and misses and lessons learned.”
