2016 Joint Industry Event
Demand, Drones & Disruption: Driving Forces in Meetings & Events
Location: The Hilton Columbus at Easton
This year’s Joint Industry Event will be held on Sept. 26 at the Hilton Columbus at Easton and will focus on the behaviors that will dictate the meetings environment as the economic and hotel structures continue to rapidly change. This year’s presenter is Mike Dominguez, who provides MGM Resorts’ oversight for company’s sales strategies, leisure and transient segments, including industry relations, diversity sales and resort events.
As the aforementioned economic environment and hotel structure continue to change, it is important to understand the current outlook, economic concerns and forecasts that will dictate behavior in the meetings environment. Our meeting’s world has become much more complex with a variety of issues, from room piracy, cyber security, meetings advocacy, and health and wellness leading the charge.
In this dynamic session, industry veteran Michael Dominguez shares the latest trends in the hotel industry and how they affect your meetings and incentives. Participants will gain a better understanding of the economic environment; how structural changes will have an impact in 2016 and beyond; and identify ways to optimize your relationships with hotels and your key stakeholders. The session will also explore the internal and external forces that will continue to pressure meeting design, content dissemination and the need to understand we no longer have attendees, but rather participants in meetings.
Members of the Ohio Society of Association Executives (OSAE), Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Ohio Chapter and Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) are encouraged to attend for the rate of $45; non-members may attend for $65 and students can attend for $10.
