Developing Teams, Tenure, and Workplace Success

Seminar

Location: Crowne Plaza Columbus-Dublin

Most employers and managers are surprised to learn that money isn't always at the top of the list when it comes to attracting, building, and retaining a team. Professional development almost always ranks as high, and maybe even higher, when it comes to today's employee. Supporting the growth and development of your team is vitally important in helping them be productive, engaged, and a strong contributor to your organization's overall culture, future, and bottom line.

In this workshop we'll explore the surprising truth about what's important to employees when it comes to their desire for development, and why creating and supporting completion of individual development plans should be a cornerstone of your Employee Value Proposition. The goal of the individual development plan includes:

  • Encourage new performance goals
  • Support achievement
  • Remove obstacles
  • Provide resources for development

There is no one best development process or form, so we'll discuss simple and effective strategies to ensure the development process is effective for both the employee and manager, as well as the benefits of a good development process, and the consequences of not having them at all. You'll leave with a renewed enthusiasm for implementing development plans and tools to determine the best approach for your unique team.
